The Brazilian reiterates his Stamford Bridge stay is coming to an uncanny end, but a return to Brazil isn’t now on the cards.
Willian has revealed he is likely to depart Chelsea at summer time with a few of Europe’s biggest clubs allegedly circling.
The Brazilian winger’s contract expires with the Blues at the end of the season amid interest from two former Chelsea bosses – Maurizio Sarri at Juventus and Tottenham coach Jose Mourinho.
While Willian says that he needs to stay in Stamford Bridge, a debate over the duration of the contract will likely see the 31-year-old begin discussions with other clubs and sign a deal elsewhere.
“I have built something fantastic in Chelsea,” Willian told Fox Sports Brazil.
“I’m particularly fond of the lovers and the people who work there, and now I’ve felt really settled.
“Everyone knows my contract is up in a few months and it seems like it will be difficult to procure an extension. I believe that it’s unlikely that I will renew because Chelsea offered me a two-year deal, I inquired for three and it ended there.
“There were no more talks or discussions. Chelsea said that three years would not be possible, so at the moment it appears unlikely that I will extend, however, nothing is hopeless.
“We don’t know what might happen. We might suddenly reach an arrangement, but what I will say today is that my contract is up and I’ll be free to negotiate with any club.”
However, he revealed if he reunites to the homeland, his first team Corinthians would be the group he wanted to join.
“At the moment I’m not considering going back to Brazil and my objective is to keep in Europe,” Willian explained.
“I think there is still scope for me to do this in the present market and keep playing at the top level for a couple more years. My goal is to remain in Europe.
“When I do end up going back to Brazil, then Corinthians would be a fantastic club for me to end my playing career at.
“It’s where I broke and I am very fond of it. I am a professional and wouldn’t rule any other clubs out, but since I really do have a unique bond with Corinthians, that would be likely.”
