Tottenham vs Arsenal – Team News and Betting Preview

Tottenham Summary

After Manchester City was defeated by their rivals Manchester United, suddenly Arsenal have a chance to move a massive 8 points clear at the top of the division.

For Spurs fans, this is an unthinkable situation and it only adds to the motivation to get a win and drag themselves right back in the race for champions league football.

After a confidence-boosting 0-4 win over Crystal Palace last time out in the league, Spurs are back in the hint for 4th place. Ideally, Newcastle fails to beat Fulham in the hours before this kicks off in which case a win takes Tottenham into the champions league spot.

Spurs have some important doubts that shape their team news. Easily the most significant one is Kulusevski, but it is strongly expected that he will be risked from the start. We give him around an 90% chance to begin.

Bentancur is another doubt and more likely to miss out on the start, with Skipp and Bissouma on standby, either would reduce the quality and vision from midfield.

Richarlison and Moura are also expected to be ruled out, adding to the importance of Kulusevski starting. Bryan Gil was tidy against Palace, but this is not a match Spurs fans will want to rely on him if chasing the game.

Arsenal Summary

With Manchester City dropping all three points on Saturday, Arsenal’s title hopes massively increase if they get the win here.

A victory on Sunday afternoon would see the Gunners move 8 points clear at the top of the league. This as well as claiming the North London bragging rights.

A draw may be satisfactory for them considering Man City lost, but Arteta will send out the side to win and they have only one significant absence, with Gabriel Jesus injured.

Betting Analysis

Looking at the 1×2 market first. Arsenal is the favourites to improve on their recent record in this ground @ 2.25 to win. Tottenham has not been convincing at home but the atmosphere should bring out their best.  Spurs to win is @ 3.20 while the draw is @ 3.60.

Moving onto the Asian handicap market for this contest. Arsenal is giving away a -0.25 start @ 1.94 which means general punters are not respecting the host much considering recent results in this fixture. To be fair however, Arsenal is looking formidable and merits their lead at the top. This is difficult to admit for Spurs fans, but it is also true. With that said it would not shock at all if Tottenham played out of their skins and won the derby. Tottenham +0.25 is @ 1.92. This means if Spurs draw then punters which bet them get a half-profit win, and the remaining half of the stake is returned.

Looking at The Under/Over market last of all which is set at 2.75 goals. Over is priced @ 1.93 while the Under is @ 1.89. It is very easy to see Spurs conceding and scoring goals, in that order! In contrast to the recent NLD with Spurs at home however, an open game probably suits Arsenal more. Either way, Over 2.75 @ 1.93 is a confident selection in this contest.
